JCVD was just liked by critics, van damm fans dont want to watch a bore fest like JCVD, so thats why he is back to what he does best, AWOL vests, sythnesizer music and jump reverse splits.

Saying Van Damme fans don't want to watch a borefest like JCVD is really *beep* ignorant of you. I'm going to guess you're just a John Q Movie goer that wouldn't know a good movie if it bit you in your ass.

reply

Van Damme didn't do Stallone's project because Van Damme always wants to be the main guy. He has three faces: Sad puppy face Van Damme, Angry I'm-Gonna-Kick-Ass Van Damme and Neutral Van Damme. Him and Stallone are in the same League but in my opinion Stallone handles things behind the camera much better and even in real life he's a nice guy; notice how many stars played with him in movies and how he handles the paparazzi even (though those guys are annoying as hell).

Van Damme was a part of my childhood I loved his films before he fell down completely. Nowhere To Run, Lionheart, Sudden Death, Maximum Risk. Hard Target and respect for bringing John Woo into the game ))

Eagle Path the script is what he wrote based on someone else's idea, too bad Van Damme doesn't have the skill to develop that idea - he is a great action star, but his pitfall - he's a selfish arrogant a-hole who doesn't care for anyone but himself. Moviemaking is a team sport. It's a shame... I'm no hater just disappointed. He could've gone a whole other way if he wasn't so full of himself.

edit: typo =P

I'm sorry, you dont really have a realistic idea of who JC really is.
If you watch JCVD or the behind closed doors documentry of him you will see how selfish he is. He really cares about people and hes constantly down on himself for his past mistakes.

to hear someone say
"he's a selfish arrogant a-hole who doesn't care for anyone but himself"
means you dont have any idea.

People change... it happens every day.
maybe you can change too

you mi friend are a complete idiot , really you are. van damme is one of the nicest, most giving persons in the world, you donĀ“t have the *beep* clue of what your saying. go watch the documentary behind closed doors and then talk to me. this guy has given shelter to more than 10 dogs, and is the first man of belgium to create a personal hotel for dogs. he makes charity work, is a great parent,a great guy, makes ecological programs to help the planet..you would be lucky to do 1% of what he has done for the world. shame on yourself dude.

Both of you are gullible. It's nice when millionaires throw some crumbs around, innit? Angelina is probably the most good-hearted person in your minds, right? :)

Back to Muscles from Brussels - Another great thing is how he cheats on his women, does drugs and parties like no tomorrow. It's pathetic. He should grow up and take care of his family rather than f-ing around. Behind Closed Doors? That's where you should stay. He's got good and bad sides, I get that - but what fked up his career and this project was not him taking care of 'more than 10 dogs' and eco programs, y'know? He's still a kid, with a massive ego - that's no good. The dogs you refer to isn't the only thing he does in Thailand BTW, but maybe those stories when you get older ;)

What's the sourpussing about anyways? I'm a fan of his too, but I aint living in unicorn land and have sources other than watching Van Damme talk about Van Damme. Who's the idiot?

Now, back to your cribs you go :)

Stallone has stated that everything Van Damme said about his phone interview was incorrect.

Who are you gonna believe?

Stallone the guy who just wanted to work with Van Damme out of respect that he was one of the big action stars during Stallone's days.

OR

Van Damme who said he wanted to focus on serious acting and roles but his next film was Universal Soldier 3...REAL serious and deep movie. Next coming films = this piece of crap.

I'd bet Stallone's and Van Damme's statements were both correct on some level. After watching the Expendables, I could see why he wouldn't want to be in this film. Yes, it made a lot of money, but it was that great for what it was touted to be. Yes, I enjoyed it completely, but the depth of the characters were pretty border line except for stallones and stathoms. Jet Li was okay but the rest were so-so. JCVD said he would be in the next one, so who knows..would be cool..

As far as the Universal soldier franchize is concerned, I can't believe anyone on here thought the last one with him and Dolph was good. That was horrible to the millionth degree, and I love most of JCVDs movies (on the action side of it). He looked painfully bored throughout the last soldier movie and from what I was reading is that they forced him to do it because of the contract. Hopefully, the 4th will be MUCH much better than the last one.

come on, third part for me was the best one. It was brutal, great shot, dark and Dolph crashed me with his five minute bad ass performance. And JCVD shows he can fight again, and he got some depth in his troubled character. Hyams father & son did great job, this was second best (after Rambo) old school action flick in last 10 years

Universal Soldier 3 was awesome! kind of iffy bout the next one though.

I could die right now, Clem. I'm just... happy. I've never felt that before.
