Is Leoben an Angel?

There's a scene of him painting the same pattern that Kara obsesses over, and then they show him having a vision of Kara and himself on New Caprica during the interrogation.

Is he supposed to be the Cylon equivalent to what Starbuck was? (Much like how Gaius and Six held the same roles in their species.)

Mister, life is swell in a padded cell, it'll chase those blues away.

I would say, no, Leoben was not an angel, but he saw Kara as on. So, in The Plan, Leoben comes to see Kara as special, the main reason would be her ability to 'configure' the busted Cylon Raider, so she could fly off planet and meet up with the fleet... I also thought it was fairly thoughtful of her to mark the underside of the ship, but she did like painting.

Also, if you remember that EP in season 4, where Leobon (now mortal) flys a busted Heavy Raider into random space... and Kara happens to find his ship. The Heavy Raider later explodes... and Leoben explains why he did, what he did.

Leoben is the artistic hippy of the Cylons, he wants to embrace his nature, where ever that may lead.

I've always been curious as to why they never really gave much info on Daniel, Number Seven. I mean they even went so far as to skip his number altogether when making the seven humanoid models.

There was one "Angelic Being" that took on the form of Leoben.

Kara even realizes it and says to him, "You're not Leoben".
To which he replies, "I never said I was"

There are Four "Angels" in total during the Series.

1) Head Six:
The being that only Baltar can see

2) Head Baltar:
The Being that only Caprica Six can see, and appears once to Baltar as well

3) Resurrected Kara:
The being that returns as Kara after Kara dies in the Maelstrom, then disappears when her job is done in the finale.

4) The version of Leoben that appears to Kara in her dreams and was with her in the Maelstrom right before she dies.

If you watch BSG Season 4.5 you'll notice that Leoben is completely clueless about anything after seeing dead Kara on nuked Earth. It blows him away and it's obvious it has changed the way he perceives everything. Definitely not an angel and only divinely 'inspired' up the end of Season 4.

That's because that Leobon was just the Cylon Leoben.

There was however an Angel that appeared to Kara Thrace AS Leoben, in the Episode "Maelstrom", when Kara dies.
