the worst 'movie' ever cmylmz made.

ok this was his second movie but it's truly awful. I couldn't believe how bad this was considering the amount of money that spend and big names attached to the movie.

Erm, there is Gora, Hokkabaz, Hersey Cok Guzel Olacak and he also had a small part in Organize Isler (as the gangster). Thats more than 1

This wasn't really a film, but a series of sketches. The paper thin plot and setting in the stone age exists for no reason except to provide a platform for Cem Yilmaz to do his routine. Actors like Ozge Ozberk and Zafer Algoz are just background scenery.

Did you expect some 3 hour romantic-historic epic like Titanic ? You should know what you are in for when you pay to watch a Cem Yilmaz film.

I am not a Cem Yilmaz fan, but I enjoyed AROG. And that's because I was expecting a light comedy on entrance. I got my money's worth.

Somehow we spend money for second class foreign movies all the time but expect world class perfection from Turkish ones. I couldn't disagree with this attitude more!

you must be kidding
i dont deny the potential he has, but he sure does denies himself.
i have seen most of his stand up shows , they are far more entartaining than this movie. In fact he has not produced one single great movie yet, and my suggestion to him that he should only participate as an actor , as he is a terrific actor. But when it comes to writing, all he can do is a bunch of saturday night live sketches, nothing more. i have to admit directing has improved since gora but story got way worse. Instead of doing all that, he could be one of the greatest comedy actors of all time. He should accept who he is, and focus on total constancy in the story. Doing a movie out of sketches does not work but doing movies like Hokkabaz is even worse. Sit down and read scripts you get, choose the best one for yourself and just act in it.

reply

It is true that there is a shortage of good script writers in Turkey. I can't watch the constipated dialogues in tv series any more.

Nobody expects world class perfection from Turkish movies....

Very very few Turkish movies stand out in my mind as anything special...
