No SG1.
No SGA.
No SGU.
Just STARGATE as the creators intended it.
Complete reboot. It won't be set 20 years later like the ID4 sequel.
It sounds like it might be set in the '90s again, but it would make better sense if they set it in the present day even if it is as a reboot. The article is slightly vague on timeline of the reboot, but very clear that it is a reboot, and will exclude the TV show stuff.

Not exactly sure why people would want this or how they think this will prove good for the movies.

So they're doing a movie where humans find a device which let's then travel to different worlds. Why call it Stargate. This is going to fail hardcore. There are ways around not following cannon, or rebooting a Universe.

But to say they're ignoring it all is different. Who's going to be happy when they make the movie and there aren't Ancients, Head snakes, and alien spaceships? Because really what else could they do? If there was actually anything new they could have thought of they would have done it in the TV shows.

All in all, I'd rather it be a 100% reboot then to try and pick up after the first movie. But please don't redo the origin story.. I mean, come on why do studios do this. Don't redo a whole 2 hours to the origin of the Stargate on Earth and people going through it the first time.. it's going to be boring.
