Leave or Stay?

Basically, was Patrick right to want to leave? With the numbers of the Zs growing on the outside of the fence, there's no guarantee they could have stayed safe forever. Perhaps getting out, staying mobile, and trying to find someplace more remote/secluded would have been smarter?

Or, would it be better to "wait it out" in the hopes that the outer defenses hold up long enough for, say, the Zs to start rotting away and becoming less of a threat?

I'm not sure what I'd do. I think my instincts would want me to stay put. That place was pretty secure.

One thing is for sure, they should have killed Patrick immediately upon learning that he planned to leave and put them all in danger.

basically they where safe as long as the zombies could not climb just pop out every day and poke a sharp pointy thing throe the fence in to the heads of the zombies that had gathered in the past 24 hours lol

Let's see:

Bio Dome where you can grow your own food: Check

Strong, secure fence where as previously mentioned you can stick sharp pointy things through the holes to weed out any unwanted stragglers -- personally I'd try to wipe the front gate clear of any zombies asap, then put a couple cars in neutral and park them beyond the gates leaving any future zombies with very little leverage to knock down said fence, also known as the Dawn of the Dead rule: Check

You're in Britain for Christ sakes, this means you will always have an unlimited supply of water. Buckets: Check... Just don't use the one from the waiting room.

Tons of sophisticated telecommunications equipment, did anyone ever think of using that to contact any possible survivors? Maybe even some remnants of the military holed up in a secure bunker? Did they try for 15 minutes and decide to call it a day? Assuming you're not brain dead this is a big fat: Check

If those four reasons aren't good enough for you to stay put for a couple of years and wait for the dead to decay past the point being a legitimate threat, and you decide instead to make a desperate run for it in the back of a paddy wagon with absolutely no idea where you're heading is your best bet... well then, you deserve to get your intestines ripped out of you.

I would've stayed put. Blocked the gates with the van and some of the other cars just to keep it stabile. Barricaded myself inside, putting couches and heavy stuff to stop them from coming in. I'd search for remaining supplies, anything that might help me survive.

Although I am writing this as I sit comfortably on my bed, at home, with no worries in the world. Irl I'd panic and get myself killed in no time.

Also... I can kill you with my brain

Dear OP

have you not learned a SINGLE thing on zombie movies, there's always one b*tch who wants to leave and gets everyone killed OR one coward who wants to stay, his made out to be the *beep* in the film thus the rest of the group out-vote him to gamble and leave and look for survivors and the so called jerk dies...but so do the rest of the idiots who left.

RULE #1 don't be a hero (zombieland...but the truth is i've always know this) dont' leave !!!

if you're GOING to leave OR stay use your brains, even 28 days later zombies that are based on infection (and not old school undead zombies) thus most LIKELY can die of starvation...BUT they still are kept alive for long periods of time by the virus...they could take FOREVER to decay. Hey even the ones that are technically dead seem to survive for ages.

The comment on living there for years is dumb, there'd be LITTLE resource (food) to stay there for even a year.

MY RULES TO SURVIVE

* firebomb the zombies at the gate, even idiots should be able to make a molotov, how did they not do this in the first place, letting them just stand there pushing at the gate is dumb. As long as a problem still exists something still can go wrong.

* no point barricading the gates if they ever learn to climb then you're just risking getting close for nothing.

* make homemade weapons (melee and projectiles if you can)
* leave during the day where its easier to see
* look for a gun shop, stock up weapons
* look for a supermarket and stock up on food
* travel to a army barracks and look for stronger weapons eg. mini gun or grenade launchers

* purge the city and either restart the human race again (hump hump) or travel overseas and clear out the zombie infestation their too.

note: technically you could just take a houseboat and live in the ocean for years...or travel to a small abandoned island....unless zombies can swim.

Wow, you're unbearable.

Anyways, maybe you should have paid closer attention. They had the means to grow their own food there. And considering they'd always have access to water and electricity I see no reason whatsoever that they should leave, to venture out into a waste land full of millions of zombies.
They could have stayed and remained very comfortable there.

I do agree that in the mean time they should be doing their very best to kill off the zombies at the fence. Fire bombing is a good idea.

Uh, there are no gun shops in the UK.

reply

Yeah, some people got out in a big car and stayed mobile, it's called The Walking Dead.

lol this joker saying any idiot could make a Molotov. Really? I wouldnt considering myself an idiot but then I havent the fogiest on how to make a Molotov so I guess I must be.

In reply to the original post. I think I would stay and then yes go to the front and stab the alive zombies through the fence and then do this on a daily basis to stop them gathering. Not sure how long the food would last though.

I just had to reply to this, HOW DON'T YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE A MOLOTOV!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????

Just by looking at 1 already made you can easily figure it out!

-Get a bottle with a beverage that has a high percentage of alcohol
-Roll a soaked rag around the opening of the bottle
-Light the rag
-Throw the damn thing
-Watch it burn.

^^^^ Thanks for that, will definitely come in handy in the event of a zombie apocalypse xD
