Sir sounds too 'honest', call me DON
the subtitle should read 'polite' instead of 'honest'...India is not in need of good filmmakers, but good translators lol

shareMeaning always get lost in translation. So, you should rather learn 'Hindi' than complaining about what subtitles should be used.
u cant expect everyone to learn a language...when ur going for a global audience, u should make a good effort to help others understand the material.
shareIn that case, one should rather watch a dubbed movie rather than read subtitles. Translation is not that substitute of learning a language.
shareDude, its defintiely better to watch a subtitled one rather than a dubbed 1. The dubbing totally takes out the effect because of the out of sync lips and sound. i've watched both movies dubbed in English and subtitled movies and subtitled movies are always better.
shareNope. Sorry to disagree here.
Imagine that if you have to watch a movie always looking that the bottom half of the screen to understand what they are saying. It takes away the complete fun of watching the movie in a theater.
It is precisely for this reason why multiplex owners in India do not release Hollywood movies with a subtitles.
Gurvinder,
Incorrect subtitling should be fixed and replaced with proper subtitling.
No point arguing about learning a language or what your views are on subtitled vs. dubbed movies.
LOL...very right !!!
Why couldn't you put the bunny back in the box?
Ooooooh Kinky!
shareWell a better translation for 'Sharif' would be 'good'/'nice'/'good person' those work better then honest or polite. I guess Sharif can mean all of the above
There are no men like me, only me
dude, learn urdu first
he literally means, SIR makes me sound too honest or respectable (both are proper translation of sharif, sharif NEVER means polite, you might be confusing with sharafat... meaning politely or respectfully)
the dialog isn't YOU are too polite to so don't call me sir
the dialog is, please dont make me sound respectful, call me don...
jackass!

that wasn't directed at you, but if there is an jackass in the room, rather call it a jackass than respected sir, people expect too much mollycoddling these days!
