What the Hell is Roma's Major Malfunction?? (Spoilers)

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with this chick?

So here's the scenario:

"Roma, you either shoot Don or we shoot you". Now any normal person who knows what happened in the previous film would probably expect Roma to reply along the lines of:

"You want me to shoot Don? This guy right here who killed my only Brother and also my Sister-in-Law, the only family I had left, in COLD BLOOD? This guy who manipulated me by posing as a chap called Vijay and who pretended to love me before making me look like an idiot and running off with his bit on the side after I had professed my love for him? This sicko who actually made me fall in love with my family's killer and who messed me up so bad in the head that I pursued a career with the Police just so I could catch him? So just to recap, I either shoot this a-hole or you kill me? That's the choice I have? NO PROBLEM!!"

BOOM!!! BOOOM!!! Don is dead and Roma stands over his corpse, smoking gun in hand and and says "That's for my brother, you bastard".

That sounds plausible enough, right? But what happens instead? The stupid bitch that is Roma can't bring herself to shoot poor ol' Don even though her own life is at stake. How sweeeeeeeeeet!

Seriously, I don't know what Farhan Akhtar was thinking when he was fleshing out Roma's character for the sequel. The scenes between Roma and Don towards the end of the film are easily the creepiest of scenes that make you feel like you are watching incest in action. Here's the destroyer of her family teasing her over and over again with lines like "You still luuuuurve me baby". That too in playground bully type tones and evil grins. You'd think that would be more than enough for Roma to take the butt of her gun and pistol-whip the mofo right in the mouth followed by a brisk "Talk again, and I shoot you". But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Instead this warped chick replies, in the most sensual and flirty tone imaginable, "Tumhari baaton ka mujhpe koi asar nahin hota". Clearly there's plenty of asar there sweetheart because you are like putty in his hands. And what happens when poor ol' Don gets scratched by a bullet on the arm? "Don baby!! Tumhe goli lagi hai! Let me kiss it better for you meri jaan".

You gotta hand it to Don ladies. Even if he murders your family, looks like he can still make you love him. James Bond's charms are nothing compared to Don.

But again, seriously speaking, this is stupid, moronic and unrealistic writing from Akhtar. Way to make your characters believable, Farhan!

i agree with you on that...the end scenes between Don and Roma didnt make sense.

Indeed. I really don't see what the need was for Roma to have any sort of sympathy or feelings for Don towards the end. What was wrong with keeping them as sworn enemies? Is it because fans of Priyanka and SRK can't fathom the fact that their characters are meant to loathe each other? Or at the very least, Roma is meant to hate Don's guts.

Those scenes needed a serious re-write.

Ummmm......yeah, OK. But leaving SRK obsessions to one side, this was still by far the crappiest piece of writing and characterisation in an otherwise good film.

I guess in Don 3, Roma and Don will probably be married just to complete all the weirdness.

Dude..I just watched the movie.I'm totally speechless.Not only this scene but the entire script is so flawed that I think only some stupid bastard wanker and hardcore SRK ass licker will like this movie!!

How you forgot the scene where Roma(who has removed her vest )is shot in stomach and is bleeding profusely and Don syas "Abhi Zinda hai-hands over to other inspector-and says"Iskaa khayal rakhna"

Really???????????????!!!!That chick is shot for Pete's sake!Kunal kapoor sees her lying dead on floor.And what we see in the end??She starts blinking in the ambulance itself as she glances toward the escaping Don!What a chutiya direction??!!
How the hell does this movie differ from non sense ,brainless Salman craps then!!

LOL!!! Sorry to disappoint, but I am no SRK fan. The last film I really liked of his was Swades. Since then, he is been churning out nothing but crap (including the overrated, cliche ridden Chak De India).

However, Don 2 in my opinion was a very slick film that was only let down by pacing and some horrible writing in places from Farhan Akhtar (see my original post).

This movie was dumb at times.

After SRK and his partner escape, Om Puri calls Roma and says they both were seen in someplace, and she acts very surprised to hear that they are working together.

Didn't she know that both of them worked together to escape from the prison?

She probably assumed earlier that Vardhan just happened to escape in the confusion caused by Don's escape plan.

Totally agree with OP. The scenes between Roma and Don were odd. She reacted with a girly "Shut up" and rolled her eyes every time he 'teased' her.
