Real Reviews Don't Exist

Thank heaven the score has went from the unbelievable 8 to 4.8 and sinking.

I assume all involved in this film were asked to write a review to get people to watch it.

It's not bad, no wait, it is. It would not look out of place on TV on a Saturday at 2pm. Bad script, VERY average acting and an ending which you won't believe, but not in a good way.

Lots of small plot explainers throughout, because we are all so dumb, we may never figure it out.

Not as bad as 'My Soul to Take' Dear God, that was a new low.

yeah, it was pretty obvious seeing as each 'reviewer' went out of their way to specifically sing praise for '19th & Wilson' and 'the crew' etc...

i lol'd at the comment about how this film would hit theatres this year.

i suppose uncle bob's basement with the projector and six folding chairs could count as a theatre...

I was thinking the same thing. I've never seen anyone mention the production company during a review. Sure, people talk about the director and the screenwriter but... the production company? These fakers must think we're fools!

Do the people associated with these films really think the general public are that stupid? Yes! Those reviews always do more damage than good. No matter how much they "hype" things, the truth always comes out.

I personally give every film the benefit of the doubt and always try to find something good to mention. I usually give 4-6 stars for decent acting, a well written script, etc. BUT when the go out of their way to B.S. the public just to sell a few more tickets? Hell no! I'd love to be able to give a negative rating for trying to pull a "fast one". Oh well...these people trying to help need to understand that they're essentially tainting the futures of all involved. For every person suckered in by the glowing reviews, there will be twice as many who'll feel cheated in the end. The nasty remarks/reviews that result can follow those associated with the film.

I did see this and it would've been just okay. As previously stated, it'd be a good made for TV flick. But I expected more. Why? Because that's how it was reviewed. So kudos to the previous reviewers! For doing such a great job...I gave this 1 star. Oh and if your wife actually got nightmares from this POS flick, then she should seek psychological help.

This movie was a steaming pile of *beep* After reading that one review that's titled Creepy, almost everything in that was pure bs. I usually dont bash a lot of movies well outside of the normal Uwe Boll movies, but this kind of ranks right up there. What was so bad with it I tried to think to myself? The story, the script, the acting, the crappy filming and editing? I dunno, the only time that I was on the edge of my seat was waiting for something to happen, something if anything but all the way to the end it was just crap.

reply

hey now -- Uwe Boll made "Rampage" which was a damn good film! 19th and whatsits haven't got a claim to fame like that.

reply

LOL I don't know what reviews you all have been reading lately, but this is just par for the course on these movies lately. The agents sign up..usually only one post..and praise the living crap out of their vested interest. Or the producers themselves do..and mention things only somebody involved would know. By "pinging" the review, they keep it first on the main page. They do this...because it works!

Whenever reading a questionable review always hit the other posts by this person tab. only one ever is a good elimination start.

I took you advice and most of negative reviews look as dodgy as the glowing reviews

Just saw this now... I call it a classy first rate film all around. Great acting, script, music, suspense, lighting, camera angles, editting... bravo!!!!

Even I am not that good at sarcasm. Good one. :D

Next to naming the production company, what all them fake reviews have in common is the complete lack of 'I seen a movie and want to tell you about' feel. What you get is your usual below par add blabla.

i was thinking the same title for a thread when i was reading the reviews.

i have to say that the filming was treated with some seriousness that you don't see in b films, but everything else was just bad.

I hate to agree but I do: everything was mediocre about this movie, the acting, writing (huge problems), camera work and oh, my god, the editing drove me nuts.
There WERE creepy moments, but only here and there and it didn't make up for the many faults of the movie. I can't believe that the director actually saw the final product before releasing it.

Lest we forget, a number of negative reviews are also posted not by viewers who legitimately love OR hate the film, but by rival NFL fans who simply see the opportunity to take a shot at something the Washington Redskins' Chris Cooley was involved with. ;)

If there were more than two pages of reviews in total I may have agreed with you but there isn't.
There are only two pages of review most very negative
Since this film was not as bad 'Attack of the Beast Creatures' or anything else deserving a one star rating the real dicks are the self-righteous self-appointed guardians of the rating system that have succeed only in wrecking it beyond repair with their 'corrective' under-rating of average films.
