Is there anybody out there...?

At first I was surprised to see almost no discussion of this film, but upon reflection it is not surprising. Hence: Blind Spot. Hardly anyone wants to see the truth. Those who do seemed doomed to watch the dying of humanity as it accelerates due to our own stubborn greed and ignorance. Not what I expected as a child when I thought of growing up.

Hi,

Have you read any books on this subject? Michael Klare is great and so is Daniel Yergin's latest, The Quest, although I'm only a dozen pp into it.

I haven't read those, but thanks for the info!

Interesting that you should choose the topic title you have; I think Pink Floyd understood the problem well:

"Now I’ve got that feeling once again. I can’t explain, you would not understand; this is not how I am… When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse out of the corner of my eye: I turned to look, but it was gone. I cannot put my finger on it now; the child has grown, the dream has gone…"
It's sort of understandable (and then again, it really, totally, isn't) how most people would rather sit and choose between thirteen channels of s h i t* than think about all the problems we face, let alone admit to themselves that, maybe, they can actually do anything about it.
