Rik Mayall? A little bit older and has a reputation of playing conniving, but stupid characters. And he's a far better actor than Shane Richie, even though he does his best, gawd bless him!

I would have given it to George Cole to reprise his role as Arthur!!

Yes but I don't think George Cole wanted to do anymore Minder. There have been various rumours about bringing Minder back over the years, in 2000 there was some talk of a special with the original cast and also Minder with a new minder, none of these happened though and it may have been George Cole who didn't want to do it because he wants it left as it is.

Timothy Spall would have been perfect he even looks like George Cole It probably wouldn't have been good enough for him though he's a really good actor
