Revenge stunt on Manningham

Is there a thread explaining this? Any help explaining this in further detail would be great.

Manningham was an investor who'd put money into one of Sean Parker's companies. The investment bought Mannigham enough influence to push Sean out.

That scene was all about Parker getting his childish revenge by insulting Manningham (who at that point wanted to invest in Facebook)

Supposedly the stunt impressed Manningham enough to throw more money into Facebook while leaving more power with Zuckerberg

If there's any truth to that scene (which I doubt), it's more likely that Manningham just wanted "in" with Facebook and claimed to be impressed just to get in the door. He was humoring them, not honoring them

In reality though, investors like Manningham would just walk - there's always another company to invest in. They don't make their living hoping for the "one big score."

Thank you for the explanation. I sorta thought what you explained was going on but i didn't know who Manningham was and why Parker was trying to get back at him.

It makes more sense now. thanks again.
