Just like any other college.

After watching the TSN, it seems the student that attend Harvard are just like any other College/University. They are portrayed as narcissistic alcoholic/pot smokers. I thought the students that attended Harvard were better than any other college.

I thought so too. In fact where I went to University in Germany it seems like people there are "better" in the sense that I did not get to know alcoholics or crackheads at all although I did know many of the really popular students there. To be honest I think this is a stereotype anyway. I know people from all over Germany and in none University does it seem to be normal to be a real alcoholic or to regulary (if at all) do drugs. Parties for sure but not in the way that you get completely wasted each day.
I also hated how they portrayed Stanford. Having lived in California for half a year I know some people whoe hoped to attend Stanford and one who actually manged to. Stanford is extremley hard to get into, yet in this film it seems like it´s a school for dumb people. Most really good schools are on the East Coast and that results in ingorance of some who think there just cannot be any on the West Coast.

From what I saw in the movie about the fraternity members, I don't think I've ever seen a bunch of more unsympathetic, smug jerks, bloated with a sense of their own over-privileged existence.

If these are the people who will one day be the elite of the country and run businesses and control politics, then no wonder things are plagued by runaway greed and short-sightedness ... what despicable people they seem to be.

I think the same thing sort of. This film kind of reinforced my hatred of Ivy League schools. They as you say no very different then any other college or university and yet most of the characters are just so *beep* pretentious every time they spoke I just wanted to jump in the TV and strangle them. Chief among were the Winklevy and their partner just seem to be so full of themselves and convinced of their own superiority. "we are gentleman of Harvard we don't behave like this yada yada" shut up you jackass. Sorry for ranting but I am glad to be at a University where people are not that douchey and everyone around is a pretentious snoot.

What you wrote speaks so much more about what you are than about the people you are talking about (about them you don't really know much - "hatred of Ivy League schools", ha!).

The same goes for 'agracier'.

A 20 year old can only be as smart as another 20 year old. In essence, there's no such thing as a smart college student--whether he/she goes to Harvard or not.
