Anybody else secretly hoping they'd both get away?

Spoilers ahead..

The whole relationship between Summer & Tom was confusing throughout the whole movie. I had no idea whether she was actually considering running away with him or not before the dad shot him. I personally think she started to trust him, just a little bit before he died.

I kind of was hoping they'd run away together in the end for some reason. Even though Tom was psychotic to say the least, their chemistry was worth watching this movie. But of course, Summer was probably acting like she wanted to the whole time, even though I would've liked them together.

It reminded me of Red Eye. I kind of wanted Lisa and Jackson together even though he was trying to kill her father, and eventually tried to kill her. Sometimes you just have soft spots for certain killers.

Anyone else feel like this? Or am I crazy?

I don't think I wanted them to end up "together", since they are technically siblings (half siblings, but never the less). By the time you meet Gant you can't help but kinda like Tom though.

I was hoping the dad and summer was getting away together and drive around killing people, like in The Strangers. Tom was a wuz.

Haha, me too! At the end of the movie i turned to my sister and said "Is it really wrong of me to be hoping that Summer and Tom would run away together and she would lern to love him?" hahaha. It's crazy to think it, they are brother and sister! But still, was kind of hoping for them :P

lmao, no I thought that too but I guess I just go for the twisted pairings sometimes. Same with Red Eye, I liked that idea.

I kind of found the relationship between Tom and Summers very interesting, incest I can approve of when it is all fiction just not in real life and that is just me.

when I got to the scene where she was in the car while her dad went to the restroom, I actually found myself kinda hoping she was just gonna be a good little daughter and wait for her dad. Most of the movie I wanted her to escape, but by the end I actually thought it would be a good ending if she just accepted living with her dad. and they went off and she helped him kill more people.
