I saw this yesterday at TIFF '08. In a word, WOW. Raw, bravura film making, a compelling story, stunning visuals, great music. The use of fast edits moves the story along at a heady pace, and the acting ranges from competent to superb. Considering that nearly everyone who appears on screen is NOT a professional actor this is quite an accomplishment.
I recommend this to anyone interested in African films andd African stories. A real eye-opener for people not familiar with the madness that overtook Ethiopia after the fall of Haile Selassie.

agree loved this film, you are right so raw i could not take my eyes off it. I realised I know nothing about Ethiopia's history so this film prompted me to do some research.

It was an insight into an existence impossible to understand.

Yes the music was amazing.
