two questions

the characters keep referring to an incident from 2008 that ms. squirrel got involved in, but it is never explained...what's up with that?

why would an extremely rich guy be working as a substitute middle school teacher?

reply

Mudkips, you are obviously smarter than the people who made this movie! Other plot problems:

It seems like several days after she slashed the teacher's tires that Timberlake showed up to be the substitute.

And how did everybody know about her breast implant plans?

Jason Segal said, "Your breasts are fine. Ask my roommate." What the hell does that mean? Did we ever see the roommate meet Diaz? And did we ever see the roommate, for that matter?

There's no reason to try to figure out this movie -- it was just plain awful!

reply

I don't even remember her slashing any tires. And as to the breast implants thing, maybe Lynn squealed to everyone.

reply

I think he said "I think your breasts are fine. Ask my roommate", hinting that he'd been discussing thinking about them and discussing their merits with his roommate

reply

it is because he is ALWAYS talking to his room mate ABOUT her breast! just because we do not SEE what is on screen, we have to understand implied situations.

"Vive la mort, vive la guerre, vive le sacre mercenaire."

1. I think it is the Turette's syndrome breakdown she does at the end, remember? Notice how she tries to not curse (Shut the front door!)?

2. Maybe he is just trying to make some extra money? Also, he may not be getting the money he gets until his dad kicks the bucket so he needs to pay his own way.

reply

i would guess that Amy Squirrel was a very high strung person who has previously had a nervous breakdown (nothing violent towards a person) and perhaps she flew off the handle and caused property damage etc.. going off how she reacts in certain scenes..

as for why a rich guy would take a teaching job... some people don't care about only money, maybe he felt he wanted to do a job where he was helping people, reaching out to kids etc...

you can't spell slaughter without laughter

reply

Amy was a weird woman who sat on the stool in the man's room to have conversation with Mr. dolphin.

reply

What does it matter? That's what the joke is. She's obviously a bit on the edge so the writers are trusting that you, the viewer, are smart enough to figure out that it's probably the cause of the incident, while using your own imagination to come up with what it actually was because no matter what, your imagination's idea of the incident would always be more shocking than whatever a writer would provide based on your own morals and values, etc.
