Cameron Diaz is such a horrible person in this. I know that's the point, but usually these types have some sort of redeeming quality so you put up with them.
Steve Carrell in The Office played a terrible, bumbling boss, but they way he played it you couldn't 100% hate him.
Maybe being mean to kids made it worse than if she was just a jerk to her co-workers.

shareJust saw this on TV. And was thinking the same thing. I asked my wife why she liked this movie? Where this unlikable teacher lies, and ruins lives but in the end everything works out, for her and she doesn't learn anything. Wha? Life's full of that enough. I don't need it in a "comedy."

Exactly what I was coming here to say. I too really just wished she goes in jail, not that it all ends up good for her.
i liked her quite a lot actually.
