The zombie sub-plot was absolutely pointless

The entire zombie sub-plot has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the movie. I kept waiting for Wendy to get loose and start infecting people, or to at least do something other than flop around, but it never happens. You could easily re-edit the film to remove the whole zombie storyline and anyone who didn't already know about it would never know that anything was missing.

I get the impression that the writer/director thought he was making some intricate, intertwined story, but then they chopped out virtually everything related to the zombie plot. However, since he knew the story by heart, it still made sense to him, while most everyone else is thinking WTF?

So in the end you're left with a frankly boring story about a guy chasing after a girl with occasional scenes of the other brother caring for an unexplained zombie girl who does absolutely nothing until the very end of the film. Even then, she barely does anything. Honestly, I have no idea why there's even a zombie in this movie. What purpose does she serve?

I'm sorry, but in a comparison between teen dating and zombies, I'd rate zombies as the more interesting storyline. Too bad that the makers of this film felt the opposite...
