How is this rated so low??

Who voted on this movie to give it such a low average? I think zombie movies are, with very few exceptions, dull, unoriginal, rehashed tripe, but this is one such exception. It had heart and an original perspective, with real emotion, not just terrified, comely people running around like utter idiots.
OK, it was low-budget & amateurish in spots. But I'd rather see 3 or 4 films like this made, vs. 20 sloppy, stupid, same-old factory trash. Cinema is still a bit of an art, as evidenced by this extraordinary effort made by dedicated filmmakers doing it for the love of the craft.

Just saw it last night on DVD. Sorry but I think we saw a different movie as I just gave it 1/10 (zero wasn't available). The beginning was interesting with nice photography and the zombie actress was very good indeed. After that the movie just plodded along not making up it's mind which direction to go. Teenagers finding out/discussing about love? Ok. but I didn't see the "extraordinary effort" and at the end was just bored (ie.FFWD on the DVD).
