I wrote extensively about their relationship on my blog, if anyone is interested:

Sorry, I didn't read your whole blog about this movie, yet. I am watching it as I type. I came here to see if anyone else was feeling the same as I. The creep factor Diego displays. The more I watch the relationship between brother and sister, or shall we say his infatuation with his sister it brings to mind another Latin American movie I once watched on Netflix. I believe it is called Ana y Daniel. That movie has a strange brother sister relationship as well. I'm not going to go into detail so not to spoil incase I have sparked your interest.

I think Diego is a tad bit anti-social, maybe somewhat introverted, or. I guess he does like females just don't know how to approach them. But, wanting to have sex with your sister while she's drugged will only get you in trouble should you get caught.

Yes, I've seen Daniel Y Ana, and Dioses brought it to mind for me as well. There are a number of parallels between the two sets of characters and their relationships beyond the coincidence of incest.

I agree, I think Diego is very antisocial. He's definitely introverted. I think that if he had better social skills he might not have wound up a in a place where he was about to rape Andrea. I think he feels very impotent socially. And he has a lot of intense emotions but no outlet for them.
