Sexist Double Standards

Ia it just me or did this film totally miss the boat on addressing them?

It's ok for guys to bang every girl they can, but not for girls to do the same

It's ok for girls to be virgins, but not guys

It's ok to bully and ridicule guys for being virgins, but not girls

Etc.

And so Governor Devlin, because even the cost of freedom can be too high, I REFUSE your pardon!

Not every movie addresses every aspect of every issue.

It's not double standards. Olive said she lost her virginity to a guy at community college that she didn't even like. She says she has a one-night stand with the guy.

Then she got super drunk and decided to have sex with a gay guy at a party.

Then it's known that she sells her body for money (and not much money at that).

If anything, Olive had double standards because she knew that people thought she was having sex for money and she was profiting off that and then was shocked and disturbed that a guy thought she actually had sex for money.

The latent causes of faction are thus sown in the nature of man [...] views

She was shocked because this was the first person who was actually propositioning her for paid sex, meaning he wasn't privy to the secret deals like all her other clients, but rather was just acting on gossip.

I'm disappointed because this film missed the opportunity to address our dwindling seafood supply. There was a perfect opportunity at the Lobster restaurant and they just ignored it! As if it's not even a problem. Major fail on the part of the filmmakers.

LOL!

Still Shooting With Film!

reply

That's because not all movies are social commentaries or need to be about every single issue that appears in the film. This one was just poking fun at rumours and their consequences.

And they're obviously anti-science because they didn't address global warming either. Shame on them

Except global warming has nothing to do with this movie at all, you f_ucking moron. Gender and sexuality though are what it is about.

Your reply is much more appreciated w/o the f-m thrown in. Completely inappropriate and part of the reason IMDb cut out the discussion boards. Please try to be civil, (we all know it's in you).

It’s just you.

It’s always just you, never “anyone else.” Just you.

Concoct another conversational gambit, except that your dumb ass can’t.
