A real stinker


It's hard to take a movie about German prisoners of war seriously when they are depicted as wearing full Nazi regalia, complete with swastika armbands, S.S. Death's Head badges and S.S. lightening bolts while imprisoned in the continental U.S.. This is history dumbed down to the lowest common denominator.

Yes, isn't it Dominic who explains to Mr. Stirn why they allow them to wear their uniforms?

Because the writer Kate Connor took the story directly from her grandmother's experiences, I didn't question the reality of Dom's words.

It was for keeping up their morale and discipline, if I recall. Among a few other reasons.
