Doomed to be a poor adapation

It was indeed a terrible adaptation. Visually, it was wonderful, and they book had a great story, but they effed it all up to make this flick. The actors really tried, but the script was just too bad, so the actors get an A for effort; they did as well as any actor could with that material and direction. The writer and director get an F-.

I think as an updated varsion of a familiar story, this was well done.
