Sympathetic portrayal of Ron Gallela

It's amazing that at the age of 77, he is still out there, along with other photogs, getting that perfect paparazzi shot.

Something that struck me is that his colleagues dismissed his work as pretty much meaningless, with some exceptions, notably the Jackie "Mona Lisa" shot.

When they showed his basement archive and the two guys who work for him - holy cow, hope you got some good fire insurance there! All those millions of photos.

Galella is portrayed as an honest joe trying to make a buck - when the harassment case was being heard, he was vilified for chasing down Jackie and her kids.

It was always made to sound as though he were right on top of them and in their faces - didn't seem that way in the documentary.

I did enjoy the one pix of him wearing a football helmet, following Marlon Brando - this was after Brando broked Galella's jaw..

A nice look back at some pop culture history.

"Hi! Would you like to buy some Girl Scout cookies?"
"Are they made from real Girl Scouts?"

I hope this movie at least makes an effort to show paparazzis for what they truly are: scum.

-Goodnight, father of two!
