No Impact Man should buy a farm in the middle of no where and move. He can grow his own food and produce his off grid electricity.
The reality hidden under this silly movie's theme is the fact that the earth is becoming overpopulated and the means of meeting everyone's needs without causing environmental harm is becoming increasingly difficult.
over 50% of the world's population is now living in cities. The only way to "save the planet" is to start from the inside of cities, just like this guy is actually trying to do, i.e. making the cities greener: better public transport, more locally produced food, better consumer products that are made to last, etc etc.
More crops need to be grown within the cities and the energy production has to be maximized and the consumption of it minimized.
It is not (even theoretically) possible to flush out millions and millions of people to "farms in the middle of nowhere". The world's net food production is actually decreasing steadily because we have been stressing the cultivated areas too much for too long. Utilizing urban spaces with energy/food production is vital for pulling off a "green transition".
Now why don't you try to do something about our predictament just like this guy is trying to instead of talking nonsense?'
Or do you just want to head down to Burger King in your SUV, stop by IKEA on the way home because "you ned a better fridge" and a more comfortable bed? Oh don't forget to go to the awesome monster truck event too, it's just too kickass...
I don't say you're doing all of this, but you get the idea...
You can't really count on the 'emission per capita' chart you got there. Qatar for example is just on the list because of it's growing economy, and why is its economy growing? Because we want their oil. It's all got to do with demand, if we want sugar then it's gonna come from a third world country (loose definition), and that emits CO2.
I still think assmatronix sounds like a self-righteous deuche.
So you are criticizing the movie based on the trailer. You must be a genius since you figured the movie's message is ridiculous based on a 2,3 min trailer..
