Carell good - Fey AWFUL

Halfway through the movie, I realized that Steve Carell was wonderful, but Tina Fey was just blah. I kept imagining other women in the part. She had some good scenes, but overall, I would say she was awful. No personality, no spark. She didn't make me laugh unless she was playing a character. She needs to stick to writing and not try to pursue a movie career. Or else, stick to imitating others.

Wow, really? I thought they complimented each other well.

I will agree to disagree. Her facial expressions and reactions are better than any other comedic actors'. I also think that Steve Carell had a part with better lines. I really think the movie would have completely burned out without either of the two actors though, it was their chemistry that kept the movie from disaster.

i totally agree! i'm surprised people think that she's awful. she's very convincing. what the hell?!

I didn't think she was awful but I thought Carrell was a lot better. Then again, Steve Carrell can do no wrong in my book so...

No. Tina provided the balance for Steve or it would have been just another Michael Scott-esque character like in Get Smart and Evan Almighty.

I was actually surprised by how good she was and how much she improved from Baby Mama.

I completely disagree! I thought she was amazing and he was only okay

i thought she had the better lines and was just better at emoting as well

I thought the plot was predictable, the script weak - but both Carrell and Fey were great. And as far as adlibbing goes, I thought she was the more amusing of the two.

I think it must be hard to be an attractive woman next to a weedy, large eyed man (this is not said in bitterness at all, he has the perfect appearance for comedy) and appear funny. But she manages it with aplomb!

I disagree with the OP. Thought Steve and Tina were both excellent. Didn't think one outshined the other. Though Tina has nicer eyes
