Trying to find DVD

I know this has been released on DVD in Japan, I think, A friend of mine came across an expensive copy online, I'm having my brother look for it in Japan when he gets off the boat (he's in the Navy) Has anyone had any luck with the copy from Malaysia?

Anyone know if there are plans to release a US DVD anytime?
