I agree. PSH was great as always, but I was pleasently suprised by Ortiz's performance. A touching and comical portrayal of the joy and pain of life. I don't think it was until the dinner scene that I realized how powerful the flick was, it kind of snuck up on me.
Sidebar: Sitting behind Roger Ebert was quite the experiance as well!

Out of curiosity, where was Ebert sitting? I didn't even know he was there until he tweeted about the event last night. Thought he was still at Sundance.

God, I just discovered this film a few days ago, wanting to see as many of PSH's films as possible, sort of in his honor. I was so shocked and deeply saddened by his passing.
I'm from and live in Chicago. For anyone who caught the premiere of this film at The Music Box, and got to see Mr. Hoffman, you are one very, very lucky person!!! Did he say any words before or after the film? Was there a cocktail reception of any kind afterward??? If so, where?
