2013's biggest game

I never believed it could be, but Aliens: Colonial Marines may very well end up becoming the biggest game of 2013. The game looks like it has the thrilling action of classic shooters like Doom, combined with the atmosphere and tension of survival horror games such as Resident Evil.

The Alien franchise as a whole has experienced a resurrection of sorts, thanks mostly to Prometheus. Unlike the Alien vs. Predator franchise, which I personally do not enjoy, A:CM is a true sequel and continuation of the original Alien trilogy and I believe it will tie up all the loose ends together and bring to some sort of sensible close the saga of Ellen Ripley.

After the game is released and depending on how well it does, I actually would not mind seeing James Cameron step up once more create a movie based on A:CM. But I am getting ahead of myself here. :)

Why not ?! It's f'cking ALIENS man !

Oh yeah, the crappy 2010 AVP game that can be found pre-owned in ANY videogame store.

Prometheus can f'ck off aswell.

But I have high hopes for this game.

To quote Clubber Lang..... "I pity the fool."

If there is a god, then how come there is a Simon Cowell?

Did you pull that off some early internal marketing material or what? I'm guessing Sega will be a bit short on those flattering quotes from reviews you sometimes see on game packaging, maybe they'll use this crap instead.

LOL.. I can picture the quote on the box now:

"This may well be one of the biggest game of 2013" - some dude on an internet-forum, posted in Feb. 2013.

Seriously? What have you been smoking/snorting? Got some for me, too? ;)

I know some people think it's cool to "not trust/listen to the critics"... but when two big meta-score sites have aggravated ratings of around 4.5/10 for a game, I'm sure it isn't going to make any "best of" lists at the end of the year. In fact, I expect this title to be a hot contender for the "biggest letdowns of 2013"-lists.

But if you still don't trust them and since Sega (wisely) didn't release a demo, simply look up a video-review or the IGN 2-hour-preview. Ignore all the comments and just focus on scenes of actual gameplay. That should be enough to give you a pretty good idea of what to expect. For me, that was enough to cancel my pre-order - even before the first reviews came in.
