Norm was NOT FUNNY AT ALL

Honestly, what was this guy thinking? He tells jokes that even a kindergartner would find not funny, and that's what he brings to the roast? Norm just completely bombed here and should have prepared some better material.

Don't be a douchebag. Obviously you didn't get it. Did you not notice the reactions he got from all? This performance was a prime example of just how unique and different Norm is as a person and comedian. While the others are hiding behind extreme, playbook style comedy, Norm stays true to clean, old fashioned family comedy. During this show, he proved that even a terrible performance was in many ways better than the expected roast! Anyone who attempted what he did would have failed miserably. I love watching Greg Giraldo. But Norm is the best. And if you do some Googling, you will find that millions of others feel the same.

I think there's a certain spectrum that separates people from either getting what he was doing, or not getting it. If you're a literalist and don't understand secondary nuances, and only understand the words in the material, then it was awful. But if you understand the timing and all the context around it, it was freakin' brilliant and absurdist. It's not really anybody's fault if they don't get it, it's almost a genetic thing.
