Norm reading the newspaper?

What was the deal with Norm reading the newspaper while everyone else was roasting? And then when people would take cheap shots at him, he would peer over his sports section like he was mildly offensive and couldn't understand why people would be taking shots at him? That is the whole point of the roast! Everybody is the subject of cheap shots! Geeeeesshhhhhh!

And then don't get me started on his baloney joke. Was he high on something?

Um, he knows that. His reactions are meant to be funny, they are not to be taken literally. He's acting offended, but he's not serious. ...It amazes me how people don't get Norm's humor.

He was reading the newspaper to show that he really didn't give a *beep* about being there or what the other comics were saying.
