Inconstancy's from the original

Everybody using the didn't get loose till Freshman year are not actually using a good argument. The files were already pretty big.

But what is inconsistent is...
- Wilder's father joining in at the end (they had a bad relationship according to the first movie)
- At the end of the first movie Van said to McDoogle:"That's why we had friction? I thought it was because I fooled around with your daughter freshman year!"
- McDoogle gave him economics in freshman year.

Now, does that make this a bad movie?
Not for me. I liked the movie, I wasn't expecting it to be as good as the first (you can't replace Ryan Reynolds for me) but it was still a good movie and the main actor did an okay job. That's just my opinion.

Yuh, a few strays from the original, but like you said, better than expected. The main guy seemed to be doing more of an Ace Ventura than a Van Wilder impression though.

Worse ways to spend 90 mins though...

"Hey homeless man, move it. This is where i'm setting my D's. My big flaming D's"

Just try to forget the whole time eras and it's not that bad really.
Perhaps as an alternate universe Van Wilder.

Not to mention the Army uniform they use in Modern ACU's....which didn't exist until early 21st century.

All three of your inconsistancies can be explained.

"Wilder's father joining in at the end (they had a bad relationship according to the first movie)"

-First movie doesn't say they always had a bad relationship. Don't forget the first movie was 8 years after this one.

"At the end of the first movie Van said to McDoogle:"That's why we had friction? I thought it was because I fooled around with your daughter freshman year!""

-McDoogle may not have been principal when Van was a freshman. He could have been a teacher who was simply not shown in this movie.

"McDoogle gave him economics in freshman year."

-See above.

Ok here is one kind of small but is that the same dog he has later in the series because the dog in this movie was colossal and his dog in the later movies is ball sack. So did colossal die and was replaced with ball sack I know they weren't trying to tone this movie down. I hate to be negative but it was all the same stuff that you see in every stupid teen comedy the messing with food the hot girl having the jealous bully boyfriend who always beats them up and then the girl leaves them haven't any of these jock types ever seen a movie don't they know that never works in the teen comedy. It wasn't bad it just felt flat sure there were hot chicks running around topless but there was no build up we never even see the main chick doing anything. The Asian guy "you" actually working for van's father was kind of cool. But other than that it was very tired its like that with all national lampoons movies either they are great or they are just about tits and drug use and unsuccessful witty dialog.

He was named Colossus in the original, Balzac was in Rise of Taj.

Mcdoogle never was principal. He was the economics professor in the first Van Wilder, not the principal.

reply

Another big one, if not THE biggest reason why this movie is not only inconsistent, but also unnecessary is that they outright say in the original that Van Wilder didn't come out of his shell UNTIL MID-SOPHOMORE YEAR. Hence why McDoogle was so disappointed in him.

reply

Thats not a mistake dude, there's already a crapload of stuff on that table, and then Gwen asks:"There are more?"

Which indicates he already WAS a wildbrass.

YES! I Thought I was the only one who wanted van to fool around with Mcdoogle's daughter. that's the only thing the first movie said about his freshmen year and they don't even do it.

also when the *beep* did this school stop being a military school?
