Was there more on the Queens drug use.

I noticed that there was little on this topic in the film. The lover seemed to carry drugs around just for her. As with any person with a serious drug issue how was she able to function daily without this becoming a issue. Any historians out there.

reply

It was not a major issue in the film and I'm not aware that historically she is described as having a "serious drug issue".🐭

What did the queen die from?

Scarlet fever.

Will Graham: I don't find you that interesting.
Hannibal Lecter: You will.

Johann gave her laudanum when she was nervous. There was no excessive drug use in the film, nor is there any indication in the film or in historical records that the Queen had a drug problems. Use of laudanum was very common until the 20th century, as was excessive alcohol intake, so it would have meant nothing if she took a dose of the drug now and then. I suspect you are one of those people who see drug abuse everywhere and can't wait to make the world pee in a cup. I say this with asperity because people who do not understand the proper role of drugs in medicine have turned painkillers into such a bugaboo that people who are in hideous pain cannot obtain relief and doctors in the treatment of pain are leaving the field in droves because laws and law enforcement have become so Draconian that they can no longer do their jobs. Yes, of course drug abuse is a serious problem, but the drugs serve an important function and are safe if used properly. The conservatives are literally torturing people with their approach. If you are not one with such an attitude I apologize.

Beauty is truth, truth beauty.

Without getting crazy off topic, sure , all medicines have their place. People should do want they wish. It seems like your having trouble with getting a new pain management Dr or something. It's many of the same doctors who were writing perscriptions blindly and without any motive than money that started this whole epidemic in the first place. Sure people need their medications and not to just get high. Many doctors where I am from are leaving the pain management area in hand cuffs and now many are just avoiding it. It's a sad reality.
As it pertains to Dr Straussner in the film and the drug he gives her, I do not think she was any bit of an addict. Then again huffing that shyt couldn't have been good for her lungs or immune system. Especially in a time like that where germs and dysentery , and all the new world killers viruses started flowing into countries. Any substance put into our bodies will have a negative effect because it is foreign. That said , the queen was not a drug addict. She died of a common fever of the times. Lack of proper medicine is what killed many people.

THERES NO ROOM IN MY CIRCUS TENT FOR YOU. !!!!
