Black Kid?

What's with the Black Kid that was following Christian around? Is that like a thing nobles did back then the predecessor to Brad and Angelina?

reply

Moranti was a real person, he was the king's page boy and friend.

It was normal back then for royal people to have black "decorative" page boys, I dont know why, but I think Black people were very exotic and rare in the 18th Century, at least in Scandinavia, so it was probably a show-off thing more then anything else.

I thought that kid had the cutest face ever, lol.

Christian saw him in the kitchen. He saw (caught) Christian going through the servants kitchen to somewhere.. (to the Queen).

Christian knew the King likes to play and have fun. Maybe he thought the boy would be better off as page boy than in the kitchen and he can spend more time signing the law instead of the King signing.

I mixed up.. replace Johann with Christian :/

A lot of people don't know that Europe did have a small Black population in the 17th and 18th century, so it was cool that the movie included that factor. I wondered if the kid was based on an actual person.

If you read up on Danish history you'll find that Moranti, the "black kid", later introduced basketball to Scandinavia.

Interesting.

If you read up history you'll find that basketball was invented 100 years later.
