I am ashamed to be a citizen of a country that will make a movie based on a horrible movie. Even worse, that people will go out and buy it.

and Stephen Mazur did. They have the freedom to make this on their own dime and we have the freedom to buy or rent this. It won't make a profit. It might break even. It's just a movie to showcase acting, cinematography, special effect, etc. It was wrong for them to use the name of the first one to sell it but that was their right.
If this were Canada, the country would have paid for this movie. Be glad you live in the best country in the world.
