Spoiler: Can anyone find me a time-travel movie where the protagonist

doesn't die horribly at the end. I'm seeing too many of these kind of films recently, even a bittersweet one would do or a good old family adventure type.

Time travel movies I own are:

Deja Vu
Donnie Darko
Back To The Future trilogy
Southland Tales
Stargate Continuum
Twelve Monkeys
The Butterfly Effect
All Terminator movies and tv series

I used to own Timecop 2 but we won't talk about that

The Time Machine (2002, or the original from 1960)

and maybe also:
- The Final Countdown
- The Philadelphia Experiment
- Timeline

Dont forget Primer.
Not going to spoil but its a bit of a variation what you say about the others.

Very low budget but an excellent film on time travel.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home - I don't like it but lots of folk do, apparently even numbered Star Trek films are the best ones (I'd argue that this is an exception to that rule but I guess it's a bit of fun). Definitely a spot of random time travel going on here, family friendly fun & games for the Enterprise crew in the mid-80s, rescue mission, no one we care about dies etc. does what it says on the tin.

"Time After Time" where Malcolm McDowell plays H.G. Wells.

Not at all a time travel movie and a lot of people would prefer death to the end of that one.

Somewhere in Time -- it is a classic of the genre, with a bittersweet ending

"Hearts and kidneys are tinker toys! I am talking about the central nervous system!"

Los CronocrĂmenes / TimeCrimes
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
La casa del fin de los tiempos
A Sound of Thunder (avoid this one though, it's cinematic herpes)

Ya'll forgot one.... "Idiocracy" had a time "masheen" as part of the plot.

reply

A Sound of Thunder is laughably bad, to the point of almost being so bad it's good.
