Another Bait and Switch

First bait me with the topic I'm interested in (classic video games), then 10 minutes in reveal the tranny agenda. Go to hell, Netflix!

Well, I sort of get what you mean but then...not really.
I've only seen the very first episode and I admit they did start to mention some social agenda topics...that is the interviewee mentioned them but after they mentioned them one time it never came up again. So my "oh come on!" radar perked up but went you when they didn't turn the show about games into some social justice cause. The person mentioned how they felt like who they were when playing but after that one mention it never came up. When the black couple came on and mentioned how the dad built computers and designed the first interchangeable cartridge system....they initially started saying..."being a black designer" but once again, it was dropped.

I couldn't care less if the designer was black or if the space invader guy felt like a girl....I was only interested in the games. They did not derail or detour the theme so it didn't go too far.

Agreed. Why was the sexuality of the other presenters not mentioned? Simple answer: It doesn't matter.

I noticed that too...I was interested in watching a documentary about video games, and in the first 5 minutes we have to hear the story of how video games helped this person become who they really were “inside“, etc.

But hey, we all know 90% of the world’s population is gay or transgender, so it makes sense. No agenda there. 🤣

It seems basically like a social justice video game documentary.

I’m still watching, moving along with this documentary, and now they’ve moved on from the transgender, to gay themed video games in the 80’s and even talking about the AIDS crisis and going after Christian conservatives. Wow. Not what I expected when wanting to watch a documentary about the history of video games. Haha. 20 minutes spent on this gay fellow who lost his RPG game in the 80’s and wants it back, is upset about lack of inclusion in video games, and is also very pissed at Pat Buchanan.

On episode 4, they started talking Sega and sports games, which is right up my alley! Then they had a guy to talk about sports games who had to mention to us that he was black AND gay, and he was talking about black players being represented on a football game!

What the hell am I watching...is this a video game documentary or a public service announcement about social justice and diversity??? 🤣 The preaching is very strong with this one.

I’ll finish it because I started it, but I’m not going to last long with any more lectures. Not digging this documentary at all. Lol. And I LOVED video games when I was little.

At least make sure to give it a thumbs down. I did.

Seriously? Interviewing the first national video games champion seems like a totally legit move for a documentary like this. A one-liner about transgenderism served to reconcile the fact that Rebecca Heineman was being interviewed regarding Bill Heineman's win.

It's not like they hunted down some obscure person just to have a transgender person on the show. Had they chosen not to interview Heineman due to this issue that would have been way worse in terms of an agenda.

Seems like you have more of an agenda here than Netflix does.

I didn't really mind it in episode 1, as it explains why the person introduduced as Bonnie Heineman is a young boy Bobby when they show video of him/her as kid.

But episode 3 on role playing games was pathetic. When i think of all the great role playing games that came out through the 80's and 90's that got no mention whatsoever, so that 1/4 of a 40 minute episode could be about some game Gay Blade that hardly anyone ever played or knew about and get lectures on AIDS and Pat Buchanan. Just ridiculous.

So apparently avoiding this "documentary" due to bad vibes I got was a good call. I don't envy my brother when he watches it. I haven't told him about the SJW garbage yet.
