During the Devonport North Head WW2 tunnels scene, the cousin the twins were staying with made this comment which caused a few in the audience to laugh, myself included! Good movie on the whole, but did feel like it was a made for tv series. Music score and cinematography ariel views great. :)
shareMe and some pals made a movie that was partly filmed on North Head - it was about a group of chain dope smoking Devonport-based nationalists plotting to blow up the Sky Tower.
Hearing about this remake has brought back memories of the time when we were filming, smoking massive joints, and an old lady or two panicking because not only were we smoking piles of dope - both on film and in between scenes, we had real guns for the filming - of course we hadn't notified anyone, and the pot had me really paranoid that one of the freaked out folk would call the cops - but they ended up more bemused than anything else, and simply stood around watching us!
I really loved the original TV series, and bought the DVD 2 or so years ago when TVNZ released it.
Apparently this isn't a good remake at all.
A real shame.
Hmmm... And where would these tunnels lead?
