I just saw this... yes, a little late...

But this is a quality film, reminds me of Big Fish and even though the budget is incredibly less than the one Burton has, this looks wonderful and has the same magic touch.

I really hope to see another film from the legendary world of Fred Pellerin, directed by Luc Picard. This was a joy to see.

This was one of the worst movies I've seen in quite awhile. Yes I"m American but I watch more foreign language films than many people. Why do we care about Babine? Because he's retarded? Because he rang the bell? Because he has a goofy name for icicles? Because he likes women? Because he played the harmonica? I don't understand. This a classic cinematic mistake that seemed to have died out in the 90's. Being retarded is not enough to make you likable.

That said, I enjoyed the priest's performance. And i guess i thought the giant bull was cute. But flying into the sunset? And having the cast in modern day? The viewer is being ask to accept too many ridiculous concepts without even trying to tell the story of what the F is going on. Slop!

The premise: Priest hates retard for allegedly peeing in his milk. ??????
