Carlota's level of -- ahem -- experience

Carlota attempts to give the impression she's a virgin, but I'm wondering. Opinions?

Also, do you think she will actually get German into bed tonight or will he be spared that fate at the last second?

She always makes sure people call her "Senorita" which you only call someone who's a virgin that and it's common with young ladies so it seems weird when they call Carlota a senorita. I don't know if she's really a virgin but what I do know is that she seems very sexually frustrated. Being her age and still having no physical intimacy... I can see why she's psycho now lol.

Oh, I don't think anything with her and German will happen. He shouldn't let it if he's smart enough.

I think German is starting to see that she's crazy. As for whether she is still a virgin I am starting to think that she isn't (maybe from one bad experience or one boyfriend her father didn't approve of) and that she's carrying around a lot of false guilt about it. That's why she's working so hard at her pious image.

On that note, what do you suppose made her nuts in the first place? There has to have been something predating the competition with Macarena for Cristobal or the hypothetical earlier bad experience.

I've wondered about that too and I thought maybe they would address it in the novela but I don't think they will. I'm assuming that maybe this started when they were young. Macarena was probably the more favored one by their parents so Carlota grew jealous? Then when Cristobal entered their life it just got worse. She seems to always get her way but with Cristobal it hasn't happened so it's driving her nuts that she can't have him.

That sounds plausible.

I also don't think they will necessarily go there, although Rufina could shed light on this. It is really burning my butt right now that she isn't revealing that Cristobal is Paloma's father. I think Cristobal needs to know that now to give him the will to survive this trial. Paloma needs to know this, too, because she needs someone to protect her from Carlota.

So, now we know. Maybe, considering Carlota's shaky relationship with the truth.

She's as sick as Elizabeth Bathory.

German, if he's smart, will blackmail her. He saved copies of the documents relating to Paloma's inheritance.

I thought it was implied that she is not a virgin... There was also a sexual encounter with Samuel in the hotel while she was on the trip to get Paloma's ring apraised. I think this part of the story line is meant to be read in between the lines. I also interpreted that her and Samuel had a affair while he was still with Camila and they were neighbors.

reply

Maybe she likes being called Senorita because the title implies youth.

reply

That's what I thought at first, but she doesn't look to attract men and she's not looking to get a job either.

No matter; she's going down soon, and hard. I suspect she will end up in an insane asylum.
