Vatican Says That ‘Last Supper’–Like Olympics Drag Performance Was an ‘Offense’ to Christians

The Holy See is the latest religious entity to denounce a drag queen performance staged during the Paris Olympics's opening. Compared by many to Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper, the performance was an “offense” to “many Christians and believers of other religions,” the Vatican said this week.

The Vatican said Saturday it “deplored the offense” caused to Christians by the Olympic Games opening ceremony, a scene of which evoked Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” and featured drag queens.

A week after a storm of criticism erupted around the event, the Holy See issued a statement in French that it was “saddened by certain scenes at the opening ceremony” and joined those who had been offended.

Saw this movie recently. https://moviechat.org/tt2377322/Deliver-Us-from-Evil There was a scene which somewhat surprised me because of its brutal honesty. The cop and priest were chatting in a bar when the priest eyeballed the ass of a woman walking by. The cop, noticing it, quipped, "I guess you're not all pedophiles." The priest smiled.

I guess it's become that commonplace and accepted now, that Hollywood can use it as a running joke.

I just assumed that they know nothing about Dionysus and Greek mythology and were too ignorant to understand (or research) that the polytheistic Greek society was going on at least 2000 before the man called Jesus was even born.

I hope you got to see the entire Olympics in PARIS because they were fantastic. The best ever. And I hope you were able to access a streaming device and a room to see it in. You can always go to public libraries to get access to a computer for a couple of hours free at least in US. Peacock was excellent in showcasing the whole thing. It was $7.99 but it was worth it. It will change the way you see the world and you won’t be hung up on repeating the same ole thing over and over.
