Really, Really Bad. Don't Waste Your Time

**** Spoilers ****
I met Ho-Sung Pak way back when he was making the Mortal Kombat game. Him and the guy who was playing Johnny Cage were there giving some martial arts demonstrations while at the E3. They were ok at the time, but I wasn't overly impressed as I had taken Tai-Kwon-Do myself. So I was a little curious to see how this film would turn out with him in it. It's a complete disaster I'm sorry to say.

The plot is simple enough. Ho-Sung plays Lee, a hire assassin who wants to quit the business and start a family with his girlfriend. At soon as the film starts you see him there telling his boss John Lowe (Peter Greene) that he's not taking anymore jobs and he's done. John is furious and decided to have his boys rough Lee up. Well bad things happen and Lee's girlfriend gets shot in the back. Lee goes nuts and kills the 3 man who were sent. Now, he wants revenge and nothing will stop him from finding John Lowe and killing him. Like I said, a simple story.

Things are a big more complicated when a bad cop, who also works for the mob, is also trying to get out of the business so he can spend time with his depressed wife. He's aware that Lee is after John Lowe and is also trying to find Lee. You would expect there to be a lot of great action in this film, but there really isn't What little action we have is not very good. I swear Ho-Sung has maybe 5-6 different moves that he repeatly uses to quickly take out henchmen after henchmen. Whoever choreographed these fights, needs to quit the business. Michael Dorn and Marina Sirtis (Star Trek: TNG) have cameo appearances in this film. Antonia Vargas also appears as the I don't even remember seeing Marina at all.

What's worse is the ending is a huge cop out. It's one of those WTF moments that will make you want to throw the DVD into the trash. Take my advice and just don't see this film. Keep that 90mins for something more important.

I'm giving this film a 4/10, which is actually pretty generous.

So I guess that actor John Dye really didn't have much of a part in this movie, being that this was probably his last film before he died in 2011.
