Who would have preferred


Who would have preferred the DVD being recorded as one wide shot ,like you're watching it at the theatre.
I know I would. They probably wouldn't of had to shoot two different performances for that either. They could have just used the whole final performance that way.

I agree. One wide shot would have been more enjoyable for me but I guess I will take what I can get. I usually like rewatching scenes studying a different actor each time but the frequent close ups prevent this.

Many people prefer it different ways. But DVD's can be made multi-angled, allowing the viewer to choose the orientation of the performance. My DVD of Cirque Du Soleil "Dralion" allows you to view, either as a close-up, edited performance, or a single wide angle shot, as seen from the audience. I honestly think they should have done that with Rent.

Yes. Also, I would've preferred if something like, the original cast came back for one night only, and they were the DVD... just saying.
