the revenant

***this may contain spoilers***

i didnt see any thread like this on here so here i go:

doesnt anyone see the resemblence to "the revenant"? buddy movie, coherent zombies, everyday problems combined with zombie problems, hell, the second protagonist even looks like a low-budget joey from "the revenant"(the other rather looking like ed helms).

although i do appreciate "deadheads" and think its funny and entertaining above an average level, id prefer "the revenant" any time. "deadheads" has a few plot holes and i kinda missed the whole have-to-eat-the-living-or-i-will-decompose conflict. im not saying this is essential to every zombie movie, but i just enjoy the ethic problems resulting from that. furthermore "deadheads" has too much CGI for my taste and the basic story is a little lame. it had some kool and very funny situations and the cinema playing the first "evil dead"-movie was nice too. seeing that pen being stabbed into the rubber ankle just made me smile.

all in all a nice movie, but id choose "the revenant" over it any time.

responses to this thread are welcome!

I agree. I own both and while this has some funny and cool moments, I find more of both in The Revenant.

As funny as the buddy interchanges are in this, nothing beats the two friends shooting each other over and over in an argument, and the scene with, 'The "Dark Gift." The "Dark Gift?" The "Dark Gift." The "Dark Gift." The "Dark Gift."

Please do not make negative comments about a film YOU NEVER SAW. It makes you look stupid.

indeed! "the dark gift... the dark gift? the dark gift" was just so awesome and the special effects are incredibly good for an allegedly low-budget film, too.

Have to agree.

Just finished watching 'The Revenant', and personally think it outshines 'Deadheads' in pretty much every way.

If there are people out there who have yet to see 'The Revenant', go out and buy it today. A true classic in every sense of the word.

Oh, YES! Both are a sincere HOOT! "Suspension of Disbelief" must be discarded for both. Just sit back & enjoy the subtleties that were begat with Raimi...

It reminded me more of 'my boyfriends back' with its zombie in love trying to get to his girl who is still alive. Both are more comedies than anything else, although my boyfriends back is much funnier. This tried a little too hard at times...

Yep, the similarity in the sidekicks is amazing. Similar themed movies.
I enjoyed both.

And the lead guy in this movie does look like Ed Helms with the makeup. Witout the zombie makeup , he looks like Jared from Subway on a diet.
