Simple but effective film

A short and simple one-room, two-person play basically. It does that quirky sort of tone that I usually can't stand, esp when blended with other genres, but here, it works very well I think. The humor feels natural as a tortured man finds himself face to face with an old god.

Good acting, good pacing. It's one of those low budget shudder films, but the visuals still did the job. There's not too much to the movie, but it's a fun little lovecraftian horror story with a couple of surprises to keep it interesting.

I wasn't expecting much but I have to say that this was quite excellent. Ryan Kwanten was great and I loved the quirky and absurd tone of the movie.

Yeah! I'm not familiar with him, but his performance was critical. If he weren't so compelling, expressive, and relatable (mostly), the movie wouldn't have worked so well. I think he did a great job.

Agreed. I've been a fan of his since True Blood. Sadly his film career never really took of, but he has been in a few good genre films like this one.

Never knew this existed until just now (thanks to it trending on here). I'll maybe check it out.

Thanks for the review.

It's Shudder's latest! Props to the other user that gave it a positive rec. I might not have finished it otherwise.

And hope you like it. It's not one of those modern "hipster" horror films I know you don't like lol. Come back and make a thread if you check it out.
