My ratings

I liked this movie, but being a former CGI artist I have a soft spot for CGI movies (not overly critical but try to watch as many as I can).

I watched the English dub so I am going to leave out the lip syncing. It it basically like watching dubbed anime where they try to get it close but cannot always do it exactly to match. I actually did not realize it was a Russian movie at first despite the CCCP references but the newspapers eventually gave it away.

Character modeling: 5/10 They were not impressive but they fit the stylization of the graphics.

Character animation: 9/10 The characters definitely expressed their personalities in their movements. Again, stylized but it fit very well.

Environmental modeling: 3/10 This was the weakest part of the movie by far. I am fairly sure I even saw some seams between buildings and the ground.

Voice acting: 6/10 Early on, the voices were so high pitched that I almost could not understand them. Also I could not tell Strelka was a girl until it was said more than once. Aside from that, it was decently done.

Storyline: 7/10 I had no idea what to expect thinking it was some children's movie (which it mostly is) that is just run of the mill. The Belka and Strelka friendship basically did a 180 but otherwise I really enjoyed it.

Overall: 7/10 Not necessarily a must see but a movie that was definitely worth the time to watch it.

Well, I'm surprised that it was created by Russians as well.
Well done, I guess.
It was pretty amazing to see familiar Moscow's places.
Not sure about historical accuracy though.
