Did Toru getting to know Midori contribute to Naoko's suicide?

I'm not blaming him given that Naoko was already in a fragile state of mind and that it was impractical for him to be there twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. However, her mental health seemed to have been going up and down, and I wonder if Midori coming into the scene happened to have been the tipping point?

I don't think so. In the book we find out that Naoko's sister also hanged her self, which was a large contributor to her fragile mental health. In the book Naoko never loved Toru like she loved Kizuki, and I don't remember there being any jealousy of Midori.

Well I think its obvious, isn't it? Naoko had a problem getting wet so she tried auto-erotic asphyxiation as a treatment for that unfortunately it didn't work out so well :(
