Could someone fill me in on the back story?
I did not read the book and am intrigued by the talk of Reiko. Thanks.

Reiko was a child prodigy in music but had a mental breakdown as a result if which she lost her career. Eventually she recovered a bit and got married but all got destroyed when she was raped by a 13 year old girl. She loses it again. She divorced her husband and started to live at Ami hostel. She had been living there for 7 years when Naoko moved in.
