Green Beret

Anyone know specifically what his Green Beret experience is?

Whatever it is, his experience doesn't seem to inform his subjects.

He looks athletic but doesn't seem compelling in the combat demonstrations.

Here's a link of a letter written by him, His back ground is a special forces medic. It says he got out after 97 and pursued acting but rejoined after 911, From watching the show he seems to have great respect and passion for all fellow warriors and I think that what really makes the show watchable. Plus he does seem to have quite a background in lots of forms of combat. He handles a sword quite well in most episodes. Especially the Samuri.

I don't doubt his sincerity, but the "Yeah, dude" delivery makes me question it just the same.

I wish he did more to compare current military tactics and training to those of the ancient warriors. The military still teaches hand to hand combat and the expectation I have is that a special forces soldier has advanced training and expertise in that area.

I still like the show though. A great use of locations and as far as TV goes its still pretty fact filled.

Yeah, dude, that's how we talk.
They don't teach swordplay to special forces medics.

Imagine that.

He really needs to drop the "Bill and Ted" parlance, he sounds like a 10 year old!
