These two give us a couple of the most plain, boring, stiff, etc etc, performances I think I've ever seen. They are just awful in this movie. Jones stuck to her wooden act mostly on tv after this but Lawrence exploded, somehow, and became a full on A lister. I will say that she got better in her following appearances, but you'd never guess she'd become a star after her bland go as Raven here.

Well, Lawrence was already great in Winter's Bone, so she didn't get better after First Class. I don't remember thinking she was bad in this flick, although it's been a while since I've seen it.
January Jones is great in Mad Men, but only because her natural vibe suits the character perfectly. That said, Emma Frost is an ice queen herself, so why wasn't Jones magnetic here? Frankly, I think because the movie didn't give her any great lines or memorable moments. In fact, with the emphasis firmly on the X-Men coming together and falling apart - Xavier and Magneto becoming best frenemies - the Hellfire Club as a group wind up lackluster and forgettable.
Yes but Jones’ boobs made up for her lack of acting.
