Does anybody but me like this movie better than DOFP?

I will fully admit that Days of Future Past probably is probably better directed. Additionally, in this one, the effects/makeup (Beast and Mystique) as well as a bit of the acting (the two Jennifers) are a bit cheesy. That aside, I find myself coming back and rewatching this more than DOFP.

First Class is MUCH better

It's a much more fun, fast paced movie than DOFP for sure!

Personally, I love them both and rank DOFP, First Class and X2 as the joint kings of the series.

Whichever one I'm currently watching, is my favourite.

I love First Class and I love Days of Future Past. If I were forced to choose the better, I'd have to say that Days of Future Past edges this one out. But hey, who really cares. All in all, both are fine films.

I am not a fan. I just happen to enjoy movies. Fans are embarrassing.

reply

Nah, I thought this was the best X-Men film by a big distance.

Remember when I promised to kill you last?

DOFP was a lot better than this, First Class is only elevated because its sequels make up for it shortcomings.

First Class is the best X-Men movie, imo. DOFP and Apocalypse are trash.

I like all of the X-Men reboot movies.

I definitely like First Class better with one of the main reasons there's more (though still not enough) time of Charles and Erik becoming friends and interacting. In DOFP, these great male leads yell at each other (I'll always be on Charles' side there, never changing), mildly play nice after a pitiful apology on Erik's part, then Erik goes back to pulling a Magneto two whole seconds free from prison. Their interaction in Apocalypse is either extremely sad or laughable.

Also, for reasons I don't completely understand, I find myself enjoying seeing Darwin, Angel, Hank, Raven, Alex, and Sean way more than all of Jean and Storm's scenes from the other movies combined and Sean barely spoke.

In First Class, I only fast-forward through the painfully dull and overly cliche villain scenes with the Shaw crew. I fast forward loads more in DOFP.

Dofp is pretty epic but I prefer First Class.
